Digitalization and textile innovation for the sustainable recovery of critical metals.
Cromogenia Units participates in DIGIMITEX, an ambitious national project aimed at developing innovative solutions for the sustainable recovery of critical metals from mining activities.

The initiative, part of the Science and Innovation Missions 2025 program, has been subsidized by the CDTI, with the support of the Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities, thus reinforcing its strategic nature within Spain’s industrial innovation ecosystem.
A strategic challenge: critical metals and sustainability.
Critical metals are essential for key sectors such as energy, electric mobility, and advanced technology. However, their extraction and management pose significant environmental challenges.
DIGIMITEX addresses this issue by digitizing mining processes for the sustainable recovery of metals from flotation tailings and acid water, using functionalized textile fibers as an innovative element for capture and recovery.
This approach combines:
• Innovation in advanced materials.
• Textile technology applied to complex industrial environments.
• Digitization and process optimization.
• Sustainability and circular economy.

This collaborative structure allows the challenge to be addressed from a multidisciplinary perspective, integrating scientific knowledge, technological development, and industrial implementation.
