Cromogenia Units has introduced 1,000 industrial containers per year containing 30% recycled material (rHDPE). This initiative enables a reduction of 6.8 kg of CO₂ per unit compared to a new IBC.

  • In 2024, 8,836 reconditioned units were also used, achieving an average reduction of 133.18 kg of CO₂ per unit.
  • In 2025, a pilot test under operational conditions with IBCs containing 30% rHDPE delivered positive results, allowing for an increased use of recycled containers.

Commitment to circular economy and decarbonization

Aligned with its sustainability strategy, Cromogenia is advancing in reducing its environmental impact by incorporating intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) made with recycled material at its Barcelona and Tarragona plants. The company plans to use between 1,000 and 3,000 units annually, optimizing resource efficiency and lowering emissions related to packaging.

Throughout 2024, the use of reconditioned IBCs helped avoid more than 1,176 tonnes of CO₂, reinforcing Cromogenia’s roadmap toward decarbonization, which aims to cut Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions by 30% by 2030 compared to 2023.

The introduction of recycled-content packaging reflects Cromogenia’s ongoing commitment to a more efficient, responsible, and circular production model.

Cromogenia is a company dedicated to the manufacturing of chemical products, committed to innovation and the responsible management of environmental impact. Through its solutions and processes, the company continues to implement practices that contribute to a more efficient and circular model.
