However, their high persistence, bioaccumulation potential, and toxicity make them a serious threat to both the environment and human health.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"921\" data-end=\"1137\">In this context, Cromogenia Units aims to develop <strong data-start=\"971\" data-end=\"1010\">innovative PFAS-free acrylic resins<\/strong> capable of maintaining advanced water, oil, and grease repellency while eliminating the risks associated with these compounds.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"civqkm\" data-start=\"1139\" data-end=\"1221\"><span role=\"text\"><strong data-start=\"1143\" data-end=\"1221\">Advanced coatings for paper and textiles with reduced environmental impact<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1223\" data-end=\"1300\">The solutions developed within REPATEX are designed for two key applications:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1302\" data-end=\"1522\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1xnxuxl\" data-start=\"1302\" data-end=\"1407\"><strong data-start=\"1304\" data-end=\"1322\">Textile sector<\/strong>: coatings with stain-resistant properties and repellency to liquids and particles.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"13nte6v\" data-start=\"1408\" data-end=\"1522\"><strong data-start=\"1410\" data-end=\"1426\">Paper sector<\/strong>: barrier materials against grease and moisture, particularly for food packaging applications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1524\" data-end=\"1714\">The project focuses on the use of <strong data-start=\"1558\" data-end=\"1593\">water-based polymer dispersions<\/strong>, reducing the need for solvents and toxic substances, improving process sustainability, and optimizing production costs.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"mgz77k\" data-start=\"1716\" data-end=\"1784\"><span role=\"text\"><strong data-start=\"1720\" data-end=\"1784\">Advanced acrylic technology for PFAS-free repellent coatings<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1786\" data-end=\"2130\">The synthesis of these new resins is based on <strong data-start=\"1832\" data-end=\"1870\">emulsion polymerization techniques<\/strong>, enabling the production of polymer particles in aqueous media with a high level of control over their properties.
