That\u2019s why we launched <strong>BIOPOL<\/strong>, a cutting-edge R&amp;D project focused on developing <strong>eco-friendly leather treatments based on alginate- and starch-derived biopolymers<\/strong>, as a replacement for traditional petrochemical-based agents used in tanning and retanning processes.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7290\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cromogenia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/V3-CROMO-WEB-BIOPOL.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1067\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cromogenia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/V3-CROMO-WEB-BIOPOL.jpg 1067w, https:\/\/www.cromogenia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/V3-CROMO-WEB-BIOPOL-980x551.jpg 980w, https:\/\/www.cromogenia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/V3-CROMO-WEB-BIOPOL-480x270.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1067px, 100vw\" \/><\/p>\n<p>BIOPOL introduces the use of <strong>polyaldehydes and hydrolyzed biopolymers<\/strong> as sustainable alternatives, offering key advantages:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Significant reduction in CO\u2082 emissions<\/li>\n<li>Lower generation of toxic waste and polluting gases<\/li>\n<li>Equal or superior performance compared to conventional methods<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The leather industry must transition to <strong>cleaner, safer, and more socially responsible production methods<\/strong>.
